Exeter-based IT company set to exceed growth targets
Hosted Desktop UK, an Exeter-based cloud and hosted desktop provider, is said to be on ‘cloud nine’ following news that the company has broken its £500,000 turnover target by at least 5%.
The company, started two years ago by local entrepreneur Adam Chetnik, has doubled turnover from the previous financial year and is also reporting a 12pc increase in turnover for the first financial quarter, compared to the last.
Providing specialist ‘Cloud’ solutions including virtual hosted desktops and managed IT services such as servers, email and backups to businesses throughout the UK, Hosted Desktop UK has recently signed its 1,500th user and the company attributes recent growth to sector diversification, targeted marketing activity and a growing reputation as one of the leading providers of hosted and cloud technology in the UK.
With offices in Exeter and Lancashire the award-winning IT company has had to recruit two new employees since January in order to cope with demand, taking IT support up to six members, and total staff numbers to 10.
Adam Chetnik, Managing Director of Hosted Desktop UK, comments: “We are thrilled with the level of growth experienced and we hope to continue along the same upward trajectory. The start to the year has been fantastic with a further 20 accountancy practices investing in hosted services, not to mention more and more re-sellers coming on-board too.”
A recent report by TechMarketView stated that the UK cloud market topped £1.2 billion in 2011 – 38% higher than in 2010 – and is expected to reach £3.9 billion by 2015.
“Our dedicated ‘Cloud’ business proposition has proved incredibly popular with the accountancy sector, which is where we originally and specifically targeted a lot of our marketing, but towards the latter part of 2012 we started to infiltrate other sectors too, including legal, renewables and charities and we are making significant in-roads into these,” adds Mr Chetnik.
The UK’s premier accountancy exhibition, Accountex, approached Hosted Desktop UK to speak at its annual accountancy exhibition last year and Mr Chetnik has been invited to speak at this years’ event which takes place during the summer. BizBritain, a national campaign aimed at helping young entrepreneurs without a university degree get ahead in business, also selected Mr Chetnik as one of its UK regional ambassadors.
“Being invited to speak at Accountex meant we were propelled into the limelight in the accountancy world and given a voice in front of a very important market and we are looking forward to getting in front of the accountancy sector again this year. Being selected to represent the South West for the BizBritain campaign was also a highlight.”
