Julia is a thirteen year old girl who finds herself on a near-deserted beach in Singapore that is covered in plastic rubbish that washes in from the ocean on every tide.

The only other person on the beach is Meor, the son of a local fisherman who’s father has recently disappeared while on a fishing trip. Julia tries to help Meor and goes out into the water to see if she can find some sign of Meor’s father or his boat. Meor warns her not to go, but Julia is hot headed and doesn’t listen.

As she swims she is pulled down into the water and falls through the ocean into a strange otherworld beneath the sea.

As she searches for a way back to the surface, she encounters animals that have fallen victim to humans poor treatment of the world.

A modern fairy tale about how mountains of waste plastic come from every day acts of living our lives, this is a call to action on what we all can do in this fight for our world. Suitable for children and adults alike.
