Green Tree Court joins forces with Sports Presenter, Steve Rider at Garden Party Fundraiser for ELF
Families in Pinhoe joined the residents and staff at Green Tree Court Nursing & Residential Care Home for a day of fundraising at the care home’s Grand Community Garden Party on Saturday, 13th July – with legendary sports presenter, Steve Rider as special guest.
The care home and Rider, a long-time supporter of Green Tree Court, joined forces to raise funds for Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) of which Rider is a Patron. The charity supports patients and their families attending Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital who are affected by blood cancers and blood disorders. Green Tree Court also provides vital nursing care for individuals affected by leukaemia.
The local community enjoyed a fun-filled day of cream teas and a BBQ, along with face painting and a treasure hunt for the children, whilst being entertained by a jazz singer on the day.
Commenting on the day, Steve Rider said:” It was great to come here once again on behalf of ELF to support the fantastic work and fundraising effort of all at Green Tree Court. From personal experience this is one of the finest residential nursing homes in the country.
“Their work is appreciated by hundreds of individuals and their families, and their fundraising efforts are greatly appreciated by all at The Exeter Leukaemia Fund.”
Helen Rushton, Care Home Director at Green Tree Court, said:” We’d like to give a huge thanks to Steve Rider for his ongoing support of our work at Green Tree Court and to everyone in our local community who came out and supported our efforts on the day.
“ELF is a charity very dear to all of us and we are therefore delighted to make a contribution to such a vital charity who do so much for patients and their families affected by conditions such as leukaemia.”
