Exeter retirees had the rare opportunity to pick up some expert tips on how to create fabulous floral displays when Jacqui Hayward of the British Academy of Floral Art visited McCarthy and Stone’s Pinnoc Mews Retirement Living development in Pinhoe recently.

Local people were invited to join homeowners at the development on Bakers Way to watch Jacqui demonstrate a series of stunning arrangements with seasonal blooms.  At the end of the demonstration, six bouquets were raffled off, with the proceeds going to McCarthy and Stone’s charity of the year, Coram Beanstalk, which aims to improve reading ability and confidence among young children.

Ciara Hilley, Divisional Marketing Manager for McCarthy and Stone, said: “With the gardens at Pinnoc Mews now coming into full bloom and our homeowners enjoying the arrival of summer, we thought it would be a great time to get everyone together for a thoroughly enjoyable and inspiring floristry demonstration.  We welcomed members of the local community to join us and took the opportunity to showcase the kind of events we regularly organise here at Pinnoc Mews, while also raising funds for a very worthwhile cause.”

Comprising a selection of 39 one and two bedroom Retirement Living apartments, exclusively designed for people aged 60 and over, Pinnoc Mews provides everything homeowners could want for a relaxing retirement.

The shared lounge is perfect for socialising with new neighbours, and homeowners can make the most of beautiful landscaped gardens knowing all the maintenance is taken care of.  Selected apartments also include a patio or balcony so homeowners can enjoy the outdoors from their own privately-owned property.

A House Manager takes care of the day-to-day running of the development and there is a secure entrance system and 24 hour emergency call system for added peace-of-mind.

The village feel of Pinhoe combined with the amenities of Exeter make it an excellent place for retirees to downsize to, with its thriving community and proximity to the countryside.

More than nine out of ten customers would recommend McCarthy and Stone to a friend, ensuring it has received the full Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation for 14 years’ running.  McCarthy and Stone is the only UK housebuilder of any size or type to achieve this accolade, which is every year the awards have been run.
