Exeter volunteer group support the ‘12 Guide Dogs of Christmas’ to raise funds for Guide Dogs
The local group of volunteers and four-legged fundraisers are joining together with 400+ groups from across the UK to bring everyone some much needed cheer this December.
From 1st to 12th December Guide Dogs will be featuring 12 of their amazing fundraising dogs on the ‘12 Guide Dogs of Christmas Advent Calendar’ and they’re hoping everyone will support them. They are aiming big this Christmas with the hope they can raise enough to fund 12 new life-changing guide dogs!
Anyone interested in supporting the ’12 Guide Dogs of Christmas Collection’ should go to the website www.guidedogs.org.uk/12-dogs-of-christmas where they can make a donation, get involved by organising their own festive fundraiser and see the 12 Guide Dogs of Christmas Advent Calendar.
Krissie Isaac, Community Fundraising Relationship Manager at Guide Dogs said: “During these last few difficult months, our wonderful fundraising volunteers have been unable to get out and meet the public at collections and events with their friendly fundraising dogs, who for many are the face of Guide Dogs in their local communities.
"Whilst it is still difficult to venture out this December, they still want to fundraise for Guide Dogs. Many of these volunteers are guide dog owners and service users who really understand and value the work Guide Dogs does for them personally and for so many across the UK.
"This new campaign centring around the theme of the 12 days of Christmas, brings together volunteers from all across the country to fundraise safely and showcase 12 of their gorgeous dogs in a virtual advent calendar. They are determined to raise enough to fund 12 new life-changers this Christmas and we really hope everyone will get behind them and support with donations and fundraising activities."
With seasonal resources including Christmas e cards, virtual quiz packs with a Celebrity Sound Round and kid’s ‘Doggy in the Window’ colouring sheets for creating festive window displays at home, there are plenty of ways to join in the fun safely and virtually.
