Exeter School pupil selected for board of renewable electricity company
Students selected to share their views on climate change for Good Energy
An Exeter School pupil has been selected from almost 1,000 applicants to sit on the Good Future board of a British renewable energy company.
Year 8 pupil Jack is one of six young people selected to share their views on climate change for Good Energy, the UK’s first renewable electricity supplier.
The board is made of up of six secondary school-aged students who will feed into how Good Energy is run and make sure the voices of tomorrow’s leaders are heard.
Jack said: “I applied for the Good Energy’s Good Future Board because I thought it could be an amazing opportunity to get involved with people doing some good for the world, as well as developing my skills in meeting new people and how businesses work.”
Good Energy’s Founder Juliet Davenport chaired the first meeting of the Good Future Board on Friday 9 April. She said “We are the energy company that promises about the future, so it was about time we start putting that promise into practice.
"It has been amazing to see the response we got from opening applications, and we could not have hoped for a more passionate, insightful and brilliant new board. The opportunities for us to learn from them are endless.”
