Cumberland Grange Care Home supports local charity event for Alzheimer's Society
Barchester’s Cumberland Grange Care Home in Exeter got in the Christmas spirit this week by sending along Homes Services Advisor, Hugh Dickinson, to deliver some delicious cupcakes prepared by head chef, John Holman, for a charity Christmas light switch on in Ottery St Mary.
All the staff and residents at Cumberland Grange care home love getting involved with the local community and supporting charity events. Having a specialist unit for residents with Alzheimer’s and Dementia, they were very happy to have the opportunity to help raise funds for such an important cause.
Lighting up time got a whole new meaning at Abbott Close as Mr & Mrs Harris, with the help of Dom Boull from D&M’s Disco, Wedding & Party Specialist went all out this year to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society. The community came together to see the Christmas lights switched on while enjoying hot chocolate and the cakes from Cumberland Grange which were served by the Harris family to help raise funds and keep everyone warm on the chilly winter evening.
The event was a great success raising over £300 for the Alzheimer’s Society. Dom from D&M’s Disco played Christmas Music and gave a countdown to the crowd while a snow machine filled the street making it feel very festive. Hugh from Cumberland Grange also handed out some goodie bags to the crowd making it really feel like Christmas.
