Come and Meet the Police
Local policing teams in Devon are out and about meeting the public again this month.
There are plenty of opportunities to catch up with your local cops and raise any issues you may want to speak to them about. Regular drop-in advice sessions are held across the county each week and officers are keen to chat to local residents and get to know them better.
On Wed 8 February police from Exeter city local team will be at St Sidwell’s Centre in Sidwell Street, EX4 6NN from midday. They return on 15 and 22 Feb at the same location, same time.
On Thursday 9 Feb from 10am officers will be available at St Thomas Baptist Church in Dorset Avenue, Exeter EX4 1LZ. They will be back there again on 16 Feb.
Also on Thurs 9 Feb, a police surgery takes place at Exmouth library in Exeter Rd, EX8 1JZ from 2pm. There is another opportunity to meet the team at the library from 11am on 21 Feb.
Residents of the West Devon area can drop by the Lifton Community Centre and meet the Tavistock team from 11am on 16 Feb and local police will be available on the evening of 24 Feb from 7pm at Bere Alston Parish Hall in Yelverton PL20 7EJ.
Officers will be out and about on 25 Feb from 11am at Walkhampton Farmers Market and people can meet some of the South MoltonNeighbourhood Team from 1pm on 15 Feb at the fire station in Witheridge EX16 8AH. If you are in South Molton on 16 Feb you can catch officers at the Town Hall in Broad St, EX36 3AB from 10am.
Honiton local police team will be at the High Street market in the town on Valentines Day (14 Feb) from 10am and again on 28 Feb.
If you fancy a coffee with a cop and would like to speak to the Torrington team why not call into the Petrockstowe event at the Methodist Chapel, Chapel Close, EX20 3HR on 15 Feb from 10am. The team also call into the mini markets in Langtree, Dolton and Winkleigh.
Shoppers in Tiverton can ‘talk shop’ and meet their local police at Tesco supermarket in Blundells Rd from 1pm on Wed 1 March.
Superintendent Antony Hart, the top officer for the Exeter, East and Mid Local Policing Area, said: “We want to remind the communities of Devon and Cornwall that we are here to help them and keep them safe. It is important we hear about any areas of concern they may have so we can take action to address any problems.
“It’s important that local people know who their Neighbourhood Police Teams are and have the confidence to come and talk to us. We would encourage people to try and get along to one of the events in their area.”
Please check the force website for further details and more dates relating to your local policing teams. https://:devon-cornwall.police.uk
All events are subject to change and please bear in mind that officers may be called away to deal with urgent operational matters. If you can’t get along to an event and meet your team face to face please contact them via the website.
