Community Apple Pressing Day at Darts Farm 

Barny Butterfield, chief cider maker at Sandford Orchards, and in-house cider maker at the Darts Farm small batch cidery, will be at Darts Farm on Sunday 22nd October pressing apples from gardens around the area to create the Darts Farm x Sandford Orchards’ Community Blend Cider 2023.

Locals are encouraged to drop their homegrown apples between 11am and 4pm from Saturday 14th until Sunday 22nd October, when they can watch Barny press them using Darts Farm’s 140 year-old stow cloth press. The juice will then be left to slowly ferment away on native yeasts in vats in The Farm Table. Everyone who donates some apples will receive an allocation of the Darts Farm x Sandford Orchards’ Community Blend Cider 2023 when it is ready to drink in the spring.
