Education technology event comes to Sandy Park

Friday, March 21st will see for the first time, Exeter’s Sandy Park, home of the Exeter Chiefs play host to a conference aimed at teachers and their schools across the region. A free to attend event that focusses on helping them attain the highest educational standards through the use of ICT.

The conference is aimed at primary and secondary teachers, special needs teachers, senior leadership teams, school administrators, technology leaders and network managers, and offers the opportunity to discover innovative technology solutions, adopt best practice implementation, and network with peers.

Speakers presenting at the conference include Miles Berry, Professor of Computing Education at University of Roehampton who is also Chair of the conference in addition to Tig Williams, University Lecturer, CAS master teacher and IT curriculum specialist and Sam P, Cyber Protect, Prepare and Prevent Officer – South West Regional Cyber Crime Unit (RCCU).

Talk topics include: ‘Designing a Computing Curriculum that’s fit for purpose, with AI in mind’, ‘The transformative power of EdTech for SEND pupils’ and ‘Cyber Security for the education sector’.

An exhibition of technology suppliers will run alongside the conference, offering access to a wide range of products and services designed to inspire and advance teaching and learning, as well as whole school use of technology.

This is the first time that the conference has been held at Sandy Park. Conferences that are free to attend and unique in addressing the needs of teachers, students and their schools. What also makes these events unique is their being held at major sporting venues, which aside from Sandy Park include St.James’ Park, The Amex Stadium, Carro Road and the AJ Bell Stadium.

The hours are 07.30-12.45 with conference sessions commencing at 08.30. However, delegates are welcome to come and go as their schedule permits and according to which sessions are of interest.
