Stagecoach South West have partnered with local councils to introduce specific school and college buses from the start of term across their South West network.

With students returning to schools and colleges from early September, many parents will be anxious to ensure their children can continue to travel to school and college safely. As well as upping cleaning measures and introducing social distancing on board buses, the bus operator has added extra dedicated school buses and drivers, to ensure the back to school rush is safe for all.

A consortium of leading night-time industry operators, including Unit 1 in Exeter, has raised an urgent plea to the government to save the late night leisure sector from collapse and allow venues to reopen with Covid-secure measures in place.

ViraxCare, the PPE distribution platform of Global Care Capital (CSE:HLTH), has provided over 80,000 disposable 3-ply masks and over 10,000 pairs of gloves to Big Issue vendors across the country. The masks and gloves were specifically modified for delivery in boxes of 20 so individual vendors have their own supply of PPE for a six-week period, taking them into the winter months.

Adult learners are among those celebrating well-earned GCSE results, having completed their maths and English qualifications with Learn Devon, Devon County Council's adult learning service. Since March, Learn Devon has changed the way it delivers adult learning courses to ensure that learners continue with their learning safely. Their results mark the end of the intensive ten month GCSE courses. A brand-new McDonald’s restaurant will open adjacent to Exeter Racecourse, following significant investment from local franchisee David Shawyer. With the addition of this restaurant, David will now own four restaurants across Devon including the McDonald’s restaurants at Marsh Barton and on Exeter High Street.
