A nursing associate from Exeter says being one of the first people on the register has given her “freedom.”

Nicola Leach has been in the role at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital since February this year.

There are now 1,000 nursing associates on the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s register – six months on from the role’s creation.

We are a friendly, social group who raise money to support the Hospice services that are provided in Crediton and the surrounding communities.

We enjoy organising fun, local events in the town and are proud to say we raise thousands of pounds each year to help support the local nurses who care for people in our community in their homes when they have been given a terminal diagnosis and need expert end of life care.

We hold regular coffee mornings, a Ladies Pamper Evening and support those who open their gardens for us in the summer. Our next big event is on Friday 28th June...

PEOPLE living in south Devon who suffer from dementia can receive care at home thanks to a specialist training scheme being run by a care provider in the area (June 2019).

Dementia sufferers can remain at home while receiving care, rather than having to live in a residential home, with the help of trained carers working for Guardian Homecare in Exeter and Torbay.

The team at Taylor Wimpey Exeter have raised over £8,250 for three good causes as part of the housebuilder’s annual Taylor Wimpey Challenge.

This year, 12 members of the Exeter team scaled the Brecon Beacons - both on foot and by bicycle - in aid of national and regional good causes. Challengers tackled a range of hiking and cycling routes including the Taylor Wimpey Titan challenge, a 112km hike and bike ride for the most hardy participants.

Twenty one Devon residents have been honoured in HM The Queen’s Birthday Honours List this year.
