The latest results from this year’s Big Garden Birdwatch have revealed that House Sparrow has once again held on to the top spot for another year, with Blue Tit riding high at number two and Starling coming in at number three. Woodpigeon and Blackbird make up the remainder of the top five most recorded species.

Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) for Devon

Visit England has announced that Devon and Partners have achieved a new Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) accreditation for the county.

The status will support a collaboration of local authorities and organisations to promote and manage the growth of Devon’s local visitor economy.

The new LVEP will become part of the national programme managed by Visit England. This portfolio of nationally supported, strategic, and high-performing organisations will provide local leadership in tourism destinations all over the country.

Norwich has been named the most pet-friendly UK city for a city break according to new research.

Howden Insurance analysed Airbnb and Booking.com property listings available over a weekend (Friday to Sunday), to discover which UK towns and cities have the highest percentage of properties which allow guests to bring their pets.

Citizens Advice is reporting that average energy costs are as high as last winter for many households , and that despite energy prices falling this month, around 5.3 million people are currently living in households in debt to their energy supplier.

So, it's welcome news that Devon County Council has confirmed that it's been allocated a little over £5 million from the government to help households struggling to pay higher bills for energy, food, water, and other essential items.
