Roadmap to improve dementia research by 2025

A new Alzheimer’s Society roadmap has outlined the steps that must be taken on dementia prevention, diagnosis, intervention and care by 2025.

University of Exeter professors Linda Clare and Clive Ballard both contributed to the document. It aims to ensure the key research areas of dementia prevention, diagnosis and care are on an equal footing with attempts to find new treatments and a cure.

Bristol Street Motors is reuniting two former colleagues to drive business at its Exeter Hyundai dealership.

PFK Francis Clark raises over £8,000 for Hospiscare

The Exeter office of PKF Francis Clark has raised £8797.92 for local adult hospice charity Hospiscare after it was named its charity of the year for 2017.

Seven members of staff at the Exeter accountants undertook the Three Peaks Challenge, one of the most challenging mountaineering events in the UK. They raised over £2,000 scaling Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike in 24 hours. The Exeter office also organised dress down days, bake sales and Christmas and Easter competitions.

Mother’s Day is all about making mums feel special and loved, which is why East Devon District Council’s Countryside team has come up with the terrific idea of combining a visit to one of the district’s top nature attractions, Seaton Wetlands, with a delicious cream tea.

Devon prepared for possible snow showers

Devon is braced for potential snow showers from the early hours of tomorrow morning (Wednesday 28 February) and motorists are being warned to be aware of possible disruption on the county’s roads.

Devon County Council, Highways England and Devon and Cornwall Police will be activating the Haldon/Telegraph Hill Plan overnight, deploying staff to the forward control point in the early hours with gritters, snow ploughs and tractors on hand, should they be needed, prior to the morning peak period.
