Michelmores reports sixth year of growth

Michelmores, the South West-based law firm established in 1887, has reported its sixth consecutive year of growth as strategic decisions and investments made in 2016/17 left the business well-placed for the future. In the year to 30 April 2017, turnover at Michelmores climbed from £32.9m to £33.4m, with the growth achieved despite the firm disposing of its medical negligence practice as well as wider Brexit effects. Fifteen A Level and International Baccalaureate (IB) students at Exeter College took a trip back in time to Ancient Greece and Rome at the University of Exeter, with the chief culture writer of the Guardian Charlotte Higgins.

Jake Evans has been named Apprentice of the Year at the Hendy 2017 Service Awards for his outstanding work at Hendy Honda Exeter.

Tackling fuel poverty in the local community

Exeter Community Energy (ECOE) is backing national Fuel Poverty Awareness Day on Friday 23 February – as figures show that more 6,000 people in the area are struggling with their fuel bills.

The day marks the end of the Warm Homes Campaign, run by fuel poverty charity National Energy Action (NEA), which aims to raise awareness of the problem and some of the solutions available for those struggling to heat their homes affordably.
