Celebrating 25 years of lifesaving service

Devon Air Ambulance will be celebrating 25 years of lifesaving service in style at Darts Farm this September.

Why not pop 9 September in your diary now to make sure you don’t miss coming along and enjoying the fun from 9.30am to 4pm. Heléna Holt, CEO of Devon Air Ambulance said “It’s hard to believe the service is approaching 25 years of service. In that time we have flown over 24,500 lifesaving missions. She added “It’s important to us to remember our roots. Devon Air Ambulance was born from great sadness. Ann Ralli tragically lost her son Ceri, aged just 18, in 1986, after he was...

Post Truth or Past Thinking?

Many English people do not appear to be too media-literate. We do not read beneath the words or images presented to us, nor think about the intentions of those who communicate with us. Work required on Topsham Lock

Work needs to be carried out to an old disused lock on Exeter Ship Canal, the City Council has revealed. Steel sheet piling which was installed in the early 1970s to prevent the waters of the Canal escaping into the River Exe is showing signs of age and needs to be repaired. A more detailed inspection including ground investigation and access improvements which will lead to remedial work has been authorised to take place this month, under delegated powers. Now members of the City Council’s Executive will, on 12 September, be asked to look at plans for the future of the lock.
