Ice warning for Devon's roads this morning

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of ice for South West England, which it said is in place until Tuesday night.

Gritting crews in Devon have been out across the county to reduce the risk of ice on roads, but drivers are asked to take care.

It was reported that temperatures dropped to -3C (27F) in some parts on Sunday night. Snow is still affecting some areas, with more snowfall expected in parts of Devon later and on Tuesday.

Start of urgent roadworks in Exeter brought forward

South West Water will be able to carry out repairs to a collapsed sewer in Exeter ahead of schedule after Devon County Council helped bring forward the start of work.

Devon's roads improving but beware icy conditions

Road conditions have improved throughout the day with all the main routes passable with care.

Gritters are out on most main routes tonight and again tomorrow morning, as road temperatures are set to fall below freezing.

Icy conditions are expected, particularly in the northern and eastern parts of the county.
