Florence gig-goers frustrated by major traffic snarl up

Tonight the Westpoint Arena, on the outskirts of Exeter, paid host to hugely successful indie-rock band Florence and the Machine, writes Flo Eggins.

As always a light sprinkling of the white stuff has led to hysteria across the country!

Met with either despair or elation when the snow comes to Britain you can guarantee no one will speak of anything else. People have taken to social media in their thousands to document the first snow of winter for the majority of the country, and being December has started to get people into the festive spirit!

Devon County Council has been praised by local residents in a national survey on highways and transport.

Positive feedback from local residents has seen Devon County Council maintain its rank as the second best performing County Council of the 22 that participated in the 2012 National Highways and Transport Public Satisfaction Survey (NHT Survey). Devon has also maintained its overall year-on-year levels of satisfaction in spite of challenging financial circumstances.

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter is hopeful of completing the signing of Fijian international Watisoni Votu within the next week.

Survey reveals the top five causes of Christmas injuries

Almost 20 per cent of Brits will injure themselves cooking Christmas dinner, a survey* by personal injury specialist First4lawyers has revealed.

The survey, which looked at the top Christmas related mishaps that take place in the home, discovered that preparing and serving the biggest family meal of the year is the main cause of festive foul-ups.

The top five causes of injuries at Christmas are:

1. Cooking Christmas dinner (20%)
