Curated by Nick Hand and The Letterpress Collective, this exhibition brings together photography, film, letterpress prints, and the words of makers who dedicate their life to an unusual or rare craft or passion. Nick gathered these stories on epic cycle rides: from Land’s End to John O’ Groats, round the coast of Britain and Ireland and up the Hudson River - with a printing press on the back of his bike.

A German artist who has been visiting Torquay with his English wife quite regularly over the past thirty years has joined forces with three experienced Devon artists. They would like to invite art students from Germany and the UK to attend courses at the English Riviera. A website has been set up to explain the benefits to interested parties. Back in Germany the painter who is also a member of the Devon Art Society has distributed posters and leaflets to a fair number of organisations near his home town and beyond. Outrageous Fortune is a Hayward Touring exhibition set to open at Exeter Phoenix on Friday 24th January.
