Pandora Munoz has won first prize in a design a Doctor Who monster competition run by St Thomas Library.
The library, situated in Church road, Exeter, hosted an award event presenting Pandora with an upgraded version of the design she created.
The monster was redrawn and coloured by Simon Brett a local artist who works for the longest running scifi magazine in the world, Starburst. He presented Pandora with a framed original of her creature: ‘The Soul Stealer’.

Parents have left the art world horrified after letting their two daughters play on a £10m sculpture at the Tate Modern. New York gallery owner, Stephanie Theodore, posted a picture of the children playing on the multi-million pound piece by American artist Donald Judd with the caption: “Holy crap. Registration for the 2014 Devon Open Studios event has now opened; artists and craftspeople in the county are invited to get involved.
Devon Open Studios, sponsored by Helpful Holidays, is the largest annual art event in the county attracting more than 20,000 visits to artists’ studios each year. During Devon Open Studios 2013, over 16 days in September, 250 artists opened their studios in 140 locations across Devon. The event was a tremendous success with total sales and commissions last year reaching over £135,000.

A local artist and Christmas market trader is desperately seeking help to recover her lost portfolio.
Mary Tempest, who also works for Exeter City Council’s tourism centre as an illustrator misplaced the portfolio after stopping at a busy cashpoint in the City Centre yesterday evening.
After realising she had misplaced her work Mary returned to the cashpoint but it had already gone. The portfolio held in a black A3 size Art bag held many finished and unfinished pencil drawings that Mary had sold on her stall in the Christmas market on the Cathedral Green.

Margaret Lovell is an internationally acclaimed, award-winning modernist sculptor. Her works are distinguishable by their complex simplicity; the abstracted forms are both powerful and graceful; visually arresting.
She has been valued by the serious collector since first showing with Marjorie Parr in London in the sixties. This current exhibition at The Art Room will focus on a unique collection of sculpture, drawings and prints from 1956 to date, many of which have not been seen before.
