Follow the lead of a number of his team-mates, full-back Luke Arscott is the latest name to commit his future to the Chiefs until the summer of 2015. Signed by Baxter following Exeter’s promotion into the top flight back in the summer of 2010, Arscott has quickly established himself as a key figure within the Devon club’s backline. With 63 appearances for the club, Arscott is indeed a prized asset within the Chiefs ranks and...

Exeter Chiefs forward Chris Whitehead was tonight recovering in hospital after an operation on his neck which could sideline him for three months.
The 26-year-old was hoping to be discharged tomorrow after an assessment by doctors.
Speaking exclusively to The Exeter Daily from his hospital bed, Whitehead said he had been overwhelmed with messages of support.
He told us: "I'd like to thank the players old and new and, of course, the fans for all of their good luck messages, it has made this experience a lot easier.
Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter is hopeful of completing the signing of Fijian international Watisoni Votu within the next week.
The Aviva Premiership club have been pursuing the 27-year-old back for much of the current season, but a drawn out visa application has meant his arrival at Sandy Park has been delayed.
That application, however, appears to be nearing completion after Lautoka-born Votu travelled with club officials to the UK Border Agency in Cardiff on Monday,...

Rob Baxter’s side made it a perfect five from five at home in the Aviva Premiership as they overcame visiting London Wasps at Sandy Park.
The Westcountry’s finest moved into the top five courtesy of tries from Chris Whitehead, Haydn Thomas and Phil Dollman; whilst fly-half Gareth Steenson weighed in with the remainder of the Devon side’s points. For Wasps, it meant yet more misery for Londoners on Devon soil – they have now lost all three previous encounters at Sandy Park – and all they could muster was a losing bonus point courtesy of Tommy Bell’s late penalty. Fresh from their first...

Like many at Sandy Park, the experienced Australian international clearly noted the display put in by Dai Young's side a week ago as they overcame Leicester Tigers 14-12 to record their fourth top flight win of the season.
The same day, however, the Chiefs were also in winning form as they recorded their first Premiership away scalp of the 2012/13 season with a maiden 27-23 success at London Irish.
