East Devon District Council (EDDC) has passed byelaws prohibiting dogs from certain parts of the beaches in the District between 1 May and 30 September each year.
There are still many areas where dogs are welcome and visitors who are unsure about where they may take their dogs onto the beach are strongly advised to check the signs or EDDC's website before taking their dogs onto the beaches. Two members of Dawlish Warren Lifesaving Club are flying out to Adelaide in Australia this week to take part in the World Lifesaving Championships.
