Pet owners are invited to bring pets of all shapes and sizes in store this weekend, 18th and 19th of April to have them professionally photographed at Countrywide’s popular pet event, taking place at the Exeter Countrywide store.

Bursts of colour spring up at Killerton

The garden and parkland at Killerton estate near Exeter, is one of the top places in the Southwest to see early spring blooms; and this year they are putting on quite a show.

Visitors are flocking to Killerton to herald the end of winter and see the carpets of cyclamen and swathes of snowdrops before they fade. Flashes of pink, purple, yellow and white can be found all over the grounds, with the magnolia, crocuses and daffodils also springing into life.

Police confirm Exeter crash victim was 80-year-old man from Broadclyst

Police have confirmed that the pedestrian who died after being hit by a lorry in Pinhoe yesterday afternoon is an 80-year-old man from Broadclyst.

Police officers and paramedics, were called to Exhibition Way, Pinhoe at 2.30pm today, 27th January, after reports that a pedestrian was seriously injured.

The pensioner was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed.

The heavy goods vehicle did not stop at the scene, but was located a short while later at Cullompton.

Broadclyst’s new £9,000 outdoor gym is ready to use! East Devon District Council has been working hard with Broadclyst Parish Council to provide residents with the free-to-use outdoor gym that they wanted.

Having an outdoor gym in Broadclyst was proposed and chosen by the local community. Earlier this year Broadclyst Parish Council and EDDC asked community groups and others to put forward their ideas as to how £11,800 of sports funding accumulated from recent local housing developments (Section 106 money) should be spent.

Pupils take over council for a day

Forty pupils from local primary schools ‘took over’ East Devon District Council for a day and had their say on how it should be run.

On Friday 21 November pupils visited the council’s HQ at Knowle in Sidmouth to learn more about its services and meet staff and Councillors.

The youngsters were from Marpool Primary School, Exmouth, Broadclyst Community Primary School, Honiton Primary School and Whimple Primary School.

Outdoor gym for Broadclyst

The results are in! A voting event has been held by Broadclyst Parish Council Council for residents of Broadclyst to choose their new free-to-use outdoor gym.

The turnout was impressive, with 72 residents from all age-groups coming along to vote at The Pavilions on the afternoon of Friday 17 October.

Residents got to vote on which one of three designs they wanted installed, the winner with 56% of all votes was a design from Sutcliffe Play. This design features six pieces of equipment that up to ten people can use at once. The result now needs to be ratified by Broadclyst...
