Canoeists help keep East Devon beach clean

On Monday 6 June members of the public along with the Axe Vale Canoe Club and East Devon District Council Countryside team enjoyed an evening’s canoeing along the coast.

The guided trip from Beer to Branscombe took in the sights of the Jurassic coast from the water. Experienced canoeists from the Axe Vale Canoe Club led the way, while East Devon's Countryside Rangers provided expert knowledge on the local wildlife.

The group stopped on the shore of Little Beach, a small cove on Beer Head, a spot only accessible by water, where they enjoyed a picnic in the evening sunshine...

Canoe Safari

Take a voyage of discovery along the River Axe with new Canoe Safari events being held this summer by East Devon District Council's Countryside team.

Qualified instructors from the Axe Vale Canoe Club lead the guided trips, along with our Countryside rangers, who will share their knowledge of the river's wildlife.

To complete the perfect summer evening experience, there will be a riverside picnic included after the safari.

The next Canoe Safari will be on Monday 29 June between 6pm and 9pm. Participants should be aged eight or over, and be able to swim 25 metres....

Jack and Sarah's Easter Adventure

Jack is an experienced paddler, having have taken part in the Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Race nine times.

This year however he has taken up the challenge with wife Sarah, who is doing the Race for the first time. They are raising money for Devon Air Ambulance Trust.
