Women and girls we have a date for your diaries! Saturday 7th July sees the return of the annual Hospiscare Twilight Walk . This year’s theme is “Pink Fizz”, so dig out all things pink to wear and there will be a glass of 'fizz' waiting for you on your return. The walk is once again kindly sponsored by Western Power Distribution.

The sponsored walk starts from The Maer, Exmouth and both routes take in stunning views of the coast. There will be entertainment at the start and along the route, and a well-deserved glass of 'fizz', a bacon sandwich and a cuppa at the end.

Exeter’s leading health and wellbeing charity stages successful running extravaganza

A two-day running festival staged by CITY Community Trust has been declared a huge success.

More than 450 runners braved the elements to take on the Exeter Half Marathons, which began at the Quay and followed a two-lap route along the River Exe and through Riverside Valley Park.

Exeter researcher running Bath Half to beat diabetes

A researcher from Exeter will be pounding the pavements in the Bath Half Marathon in aid of Diabetes UK, the charity that funds her work. The run on Sunday, 4 March 2018 will see around 12,000 runners take to the streets of the World Heritage City to tackle the 13.1-mile route. Dr Pamela Bowman, 34, who is based at the University of Exeter Medical School, is running because she wants to show her gratitude to Diabetes UK for supporting her research. Thrill-seeking families are invited to get muddy for a good cause at a brand-new event at The Shops at Dartington during their May Food Fair on Sunday 27 May.

The Mud Larks Fun Run will consist of a 3km course, run twice by those feeling truly mighty, and includes a 500-foot zipline, 40-foot abseil, running through mud, navigating tyres, taking part in a dry kayak hill climb and there’s even archery thrown in too.

Devon hospices supported by Buckfast Abbey’s Millennium Fund

Buckfast Abbey is giving thanks for the thousandth anniversary of its foundation through the setting up of the Millennium Fund to support Devon hospice charities. All proceeds from the Millennium events will go towards the fund, which will then be split between Rowcroft Hospice, Hospiscare, North Devon Hospice, Children’s Hospice South West and St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth.

FORCE launches new partnership with Princesshay

FORCE Cancer Charity is all set to launch a new partnership with one of Exeter’s most iconic shopping and dining destinations.

FORCE has been chosen as Princesshay’s Charity of the Year for 2018.

The new link will be launched on Thursday February 1 when FORCE will be in Princesshay to promote the work that it does to support anyone locally affected by cancer.
