Police arrested two men following a pursuit on the M5 on Wednesday night. At around 11.45pm on Wednesday (15 October) traffic officers attempted to routinely stop a Ford Fiesta motor vehicle which was travelling into Devon on the M5. The vehicle failed to stop and continued at speed southbound along the M5.
Officers, supported by the force helicopter, pursued the vehicle and boxing tactics were used in an attempt to stop the vehicle, but the driver failed to stop and rammed police vehicles in an attempt to escape. During the pursuit items were thrown from the vehicle.
Dramatic footage showing the moment a prolific offender was captured by police has been released to the public. Filmed by the police helicopter, the video shows officers and a police dog track 29-year-old man, Dylan Taylor, who was later convicted of a series of offences across the Force area. The incident took place in Exeter in the early hours of 29 April 2013 after officers in the police helicopter spotted a vehicle acting suspiciously.
