National Theatre’s most popular showings to return to Exeter

After a great year of live theatre on the big screen, Vue and National Theatre are bringing some of the biggest shows of 2019 back to the big screen in Exeter for the New Year, to give viewers a second chance to see them.

Kick-starting 2020 on Thursday 9th January, Vue Exeter will be re-showing All About Eve, which tells the story of theatre legend Mango Channing, whose limelight gets stolen by Eve. From one of the most innovative theatre directors, Ivo van Hove, this is a story of jealousy and ambition.

André Rieu will celebrate his 70th birthday with a one-off event in cinemas across the country on Saturday January 4th and Sunday January 5th 2020, featuring a collection of his favourite performances from his spectacular live shows across the world, as well as reminiscing with presenter Charlotte Hawkins about his life and multi-decade career.

The summer’s not over just yet as the Picturehouse Outdoor cinema pitches up in the idyllic canal-side setting of the Double Locks pub for three nights of cinema under the stars.

From 30 Aug – 1 Sep Picturehouse outdoors returns for a weekend of singing, dancing and time travel, with the backdrop of some of Devon’s most beautiful countryside. Films will start around dusk, but arrive earlier to enjoy the evening sun with a refreshing beverage from the pub and something delicious from their kitchen.

An array of Big Screen Events including children’s favourites, live theatre and live dance will come to Vue Exeter this May.

BRITISH supergroup Take That are celebrating their 30th anniversary in style with a massive stadium tour.

DISNEY fans throughout Exeter are being encouraged to put their creativity to the test and design a poster for one of the year's most hotly anticipated movies.

Vue is giving children the chance to design a poster for Dumbo, which is released on Friday 29 March.

The live-action remake of the Disney classic is about a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughing stock, until it is discovered that he can fly. The new version of the film stars Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton and Danny DeVito.

This month, Vue Exeter is one of the first in the UK to launch The Film Society, offering members 50% off a specially curated programme of 12 quality films for a one-off fee of just £10.
