Plan now for a comfortable retirement

Today is Pension Awareness Day and Citizens Advice Exeter is encouraging people to plan earlier for a comfortable retirement.

The leading local advice charity says that many people find pensions confusing and can be put off by complex language and paperwork, leaving their retirement plans to the last minute.

Previous research from national Citizens Advice shows that one in four people with a defined contribution pension feel they don’t understand their pension plan.

Concern over increase in people turning to Citizens Advice Exeter

Citizens Advice Exeter, today said it was concerned about an increases in enquiries about welfare benefits, employment and housing.

In the first four-months of the financial year the charity helped 14% more people when compared to the same period in 2015.

The advice trends over the period were as follows:

Housing Overall, the charity dealt with 10.9% more housing enquiries. The main increases being:

• 94.7% about housing association properties • 77.2% about actual homelessness • 7.0% about threatened homelessness

A team of walkers from leading local advice charity, Citizens Advice Exeter, raised £846.25 when they took part in the Exeter Legal Walk on the 6th June.

Leading local advice charity, Citizens Advice Exeter, is delighted to announce that Cartridges Law will be joining its successful legal clinic scheme.
