Exeter's Quay will be buzzing this August Bank Holiday weekend as it plays host to some of the world’s top climbers at a spectacular climbing competition.

Thousands of spectators are expected to attend the thrilling climbing event on the Quay - and if you fancy dropping off a seven metre wall into the canal - they’ll also be a chance for novices to have a go.

Quay Climbing is staging its third annual Deep Water Solo Festival of Climbing over the August Bank Holiday weekend; the event sees a temporary seven metre high climbing wall erected in the city’s canal basin.

An ambulance driver from Crediton has scooped a pair of VIP hospitality tickets to the Devon stage finish of the Tour of Britain 2016.

On Friday September 9 the world’s top cycling teams and riders will race from Sidmouth on the East Devon coast to the summit of Haytor on Dartmoor.

And Doug Bosley, who works for WAFA Emergency Medical Vehicles, will be able to watch the finish in style after winning a prize draw held by stage six hosts Devon County Council.

Pick up poop say Cranbrook kids

Children of St Martin’s Primary School have been creating a new poster design to encourage Cranbrook residents to clean up after their dogs.

Children at the school recently heard from Cranbrook Councillor Karen Jennings at an assembly about the dog fouling around the town. Children were asked if they could help teach adults to be responsible pet owners, to help make Cranbrook a great place to live.

It's Strictly Young Farmers: Gallery

Blackpool hosted the National Young Farmers ballroom dancing competition finals, which saw eight teams from across England and Wales compete.

Haldon Group of Young Farmers representing Devon were delighted to walk away with a well-deserved third place, in the finals which saw stiff competition from other teams. Clun Valley YFC from Shropshire and Hermon YFC from Pembrokeshire came first and second respectively.

The Exeter Business Improvement District has announced the winner of its Capture Exeter photography competition.

Terry Welch took the winning photograph, taken from the viewpoint of Exeter Castle. The image was chosen due to the unusual viewpoint, showing a different part of the city centre that many may have not seen before. The competition, launched at the start of February, asked budding photographers to capture what they love most about Exeter in one glorious image to be in with a chance of winning £100 worth of Jessops vouchers and a Jessops photography course.
