East Devon District Council’s Countryside team is inviting photographers of all ages and abilities – from beginners to professionals - to demonstrate their skills and talent by entering an exciting new photographic competition.

The theme is completely open – it could be a landscape, seascape, architecture, wildlife or colourful flowers - as long as the photograph depicts a subject that is in East Devon.

Exeter’s ‘Unmumsy Mum’ supports charity Mother’s Day competition

Exeter-based Rainbow Living is inviting local children and disabled adults to celebrate Mother’s Day by getting involved in a special competition to show their mum how much they love them.

All entrants need to do is design a Mother’s Day card to be in with a chance of winning an amazing Mother’s Day hamper, kindly donated by Sainsbury’s Pinhoe.

Exeter swimmers are Devon Champions

The first weekend of the Devon County Swimming Championships took place at the Plymouth Lifecentre on the 16th and 17th January and Exeter City Swimming Club brought a mountain of silverware and medals back to Exeter.

Team Captain Dominic Wooldridge led the way by winning the Championship finals and picking up two trophies in the 200 fly and the 400 freestyle. Dom also took 3rd place in the 200 IM. Closely followed by Aliyah Mai-Webb collecting the championship final trophy for the 200 IM and then reaching the Championship final in the 200 fly and the 200 b/k where she was second...

National championships beckon Exeter swimmers

Four members of Exeter City Swimming Club have successfully attained qualifying times for the British Short Course National Championships being held in Sheffield on December 17th.

Dominic Wooldridge (20), Liam White (17), Katie Townsend (15) and Warren Barrett (28) all gained their qualifying times at the Exeter City Swimming Club level 2 meet held at Plymouth Aquatics Centre at the beginning of October.

It is the first time the ASA have held a short course National championship in nearly seven years and competition to secure qualifying times was strong from all clubs...

Rugby competition for youth teams

Until 2nd November, AEG is giving Rugby Club Youth Sections (Junior and Mini teams) in England, Scotland and Wales the chance to win one of twenty sets of Canterbury kit (shirts, socks, water bottles and boot bags) as well as 20 Canterbury balls and 2 ball bags for their club.

To top it off the clubs will also win a top of the range AEG OKOMix washing machine to care for the kit. All 20 winners will then have a chance to win one of three training sessions with a rugby legend like Will Greenwood at their club.
