Children's Activity: Create Club

Art and craft activity for unaccompanied children to nurture and inspire each child’s imagination. Tried and tested materials and tools are used, giving parents the reassurance that safe, compliant and securely managed learning experiences are offered. Create Club is run by two members of Creation Station staff who run and manage the sessions. Staff are DBS checked, Safeguarding trained and one out of the two staff is also first aid trained. Full day includes lunchtime supervision.

The exhibition takes its direction from Common Ground, a Dorset charity who explored the relationship between nature and culture through areas such as music, sculpture, poetry and film. The Devon Guild is breaking new ground by using the media of craft to celebrate the charity’s idea of ‘local distinctiveness’ or ‘the unique characteristics such as customs, myths or plants’ - of a neighbourhood or small community.

Urban Bees: Working Together

Bees are under threat like never before. Six members of the Devon Guild of Craftsmen have come together to respond in their own way to the current plight of bees. Inspired by the example of the rooftop beehives on Princesshay shopping centre in Exeter, they have made work in the fields of printmaking, photography, ceramics, textiles and jewellery. The Exeter Green Fair
