Comedian Mike Osman is bringing his frighteningly realistic portrayal of the leader of the free world to the county in aid of Comic Relief.

The Capital radio presenter has appeared on such shows as Copy Cats, The Generation Game, Noel's House Party and Big Break.

He will be headlining a show at the Watermark in Ivybridge on Tuesday, March 12, which will also showcase three top local comedians – Louis Burgess, Suzy Bennett and Luke Honnoraty.

Fitz reveals all at local charity

BBC Radio Devon presenter and local personality David ‘Fitz’ FitzGerald revealed all at the local headquarters of the charity Samaritans - or at least, he revealed two new signs urging people in distress to ‘Talk To Us.’

Fitz was at the central Exeter base of the Exeter, Mid and East Devon Samaritans to unveil the vivid green signs. They help identify the building for people who want to have a face-to-face discussion instead of the more traditional telephone calls, emails and texts answered by the 100 volunteers who run the local branch of the service.

Radio Devon's Fitz digs first turf on site of charity family suite

Staff from the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital Trust and ELF were joined by ELF Patron, David Fitzgerald to put the first spade in the ground for the new family suite.

ELF wants to do more for critically ill and end of life patients. The Chevithorne Appeal will fund the building of a suite of rooms for patients and their families so that they can be together whilst still receiving the tailored medical care at the hospital.

The suite will have two bedrooms – one for the patient and one for their family. An open plan living area with kitchenette gives the home comforts and...

Fitz to take over Judi's show

As exclusively revealed by the Exeter Daily yesterday, David Fitzgerald is to take over the presenting slot currently occupied by Judi Spiers.

Fitz and his Producer Monica Ellis will be moving to the Mid-Morning Show on BBC Radio Devon from Monday 6 July.

The BBC also announced this afternoon that Pippa Quelch will be the new voice of Drive Time.

Pippa, who was born and grew up in Devon, will present a mixture of news, travel and music each weekday from 5pm – 7pm in her new Drive Time Show.

Is Fitz set for Judi's job?

BBC Radio Devon afternoon presenter David Fitzgerald is poised to take over from soon-to-be-axed Judi Spiers, the Daily understands.

According to sources, some staff were told of the planned appointment this afternoon.

It had been thought that another of the station’s casualties, Matt Woodley, would be taking the slot.

David, like Judi, is not a BBC employee and operates on a freelance basis.

He is an all-round broadcaster and TV presenter having spent a spell of his career at Sky.

David is believed to get on well with BBC Radio Devon’s managing...
