Public transport proposals revised

More than half of public transport passenger trips planned to be cut in Devon are now proposed to be restored, following widespread public consultation.

Devon County Council had originally planned to reduce passenger trips by almost 400,000 this year to save £1.7 million, but it is now proposing to reduce this to just under 170,000 after talking to communities across the county.

Crocodile Joe welcomes new reptiles to Crealy

Conservationist and reptile expert Crocodile Joe visited Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park on Thursday 28th May to personally welcome two spectacled caimans to their new home at the brand new reptile area in the Animal Barn.

The two crocodilians were rescued by the RSPCA in Cornwall where they were then temporarily housed at Cornwall’s Crealy Great Adventure Park before their move to Devon this May Half Term. The Exeter branch of RGB Building Supplies is holding a free Summer Trade Day on Tuesday 9th June where those that work in the trades and DIY enthusiasts will be able to see demonstrations and talk to experts about a number of different products.

Exeter city centre office damaged by fire

Fire crews attended a blaze at an office in Southernhay West last night (Monday 1 June).

One appliance from Middlemoor and an appliance from Danes castle, along with the aerial platform also from Danes Castle, were mobilised to the city centre fire at around 9.30pm.

The officer in charge confirmed that there was a fire in the building involving a paper shredder.
