East Devon District Council’s Leader has welcomed the opening of a new pharmacy for residents of Cranbrook.
The new facility is located within the Younghayes Centre, the community building that was completed soon after the first cluster of homes was built at Cranbrook, and is the latest in a series of firsts for the new town, which is rapidly taking shape.

Two men were sentenced at Bristol Crown Court yesterday (Tuesday 10 March) for defrauding vulnerable people out of over £88,000.
Rahim Choudhury and Abdul Shafee, both 19, of Quaker Street, London, were sentenced to 38 months and 15 months in prison, respectively.

An Exeter man has been sentenced for supplying illicit tobacco and DVDs following an investigation by Devon and Somerset Trading Standards service.
Philip Martin, 62, of Masefield Road, Exeter was charged with selling, and having available to supply, tobacco which did not have the legally required health warnings or the appropriate duty paid markings; and possessing a number of counterfeit DVDs with the intention to sell them.
