Rotary Club of Exeter Enterprise has for several years had an association with Countess Wear Community School and it has been a privilege to share and be associated with their success. Their assembly on Thursday 18 July was just such an occasion.

The NHS in Devon has teamed up with award-winning department store John Lewis to find out why its customers have such a great experience.

Northern, Eastern and Western Devon Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) chief nurse Jenny Winslade said the CCG wanted to learn from John Lewis “hearing how the department store approaches customer satisfaction could help the NHS translate this into improved patient care.”

Police appeal for witnesses following serious collision in Exeter

Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision between a car and cyclist in Exeter on Sunday 28 July. The collision happened at around 7.40pm on Topsham Road, at the junction with Higher Wear Road. Police believe the silver Ford Fiesta was travelling along Topsham Road from Topsham, heading towards Countess Wear, when the cyclist emerged from the nearside before being struck by the car. Crealy Adventure Park is offering visitors some fantastic character themed days across various dates in August. Children’s favourites including Peppa Pig and Bob the Builder will be available to meet on days across August.

Vue Cinema offer exclusive viewings of Thomas & Friends; King of the Railway

The Vue cinema has leapt to the rescue of frantic parents who are trying to find ways to amuse their children across the summer holidays. The latest film in the Thomas and Friends adventures is called King of the Railway and is being aired exclusively at Vue cinemas only.

Dawlish Carnival week is one of Devon's largest seaside carnivals, taking place over seven days during August and provides lots of free fun and entertainment for the whole family!

The Grand Carnival Procession will take place on Friday 16 August, the route runs for about 2.5 miles through the town centre and the procession itself can reach up to over a mile in length over an hour to pass.

The fun starts around 7.30pm.

There are many activities - many of them free to take part in - and events happening in and around Dawlish during Carnival week.
