Police discovered the body of a woman at Kes Tor on Dartmoor near Chagford at around 10.50pm yesterday (2 May).
The deceased is thought to be a woman in her 40s from the Chagford area.
Next of kin have been informed, and although formal identification has not yet taken place it is likely that the woman is Fay Charters who was reported missing in the area last night.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

A 38-year-old woman from Ernesettle in Plymouth is due to appear before Plymouth Magistrates this morning (Tuesday 30 April 2013) charged with murder.
Angela Douglas was arrested during the evening of Sunday 28 April 2013 and detained at Crownhill Police Station.
The arrest was made after a 73-year-old Plymouth woman had been admitted to hospital. She died the following morning.
The suspect was detained and interviewed by detectives before being charged with the offence and detained at the police station pending her court appearance.

A survey by Devon County Council and the Plymouth School Sports Partnership found that 95% of parents rated the cycle training in Devon highly or very highly.
