The University of Exeter has been named University of the Year in The Sunday Times University Guide 2013. In the South West, the University is also ranked as best in the region for teaching. The 64-page guide, now in its 15th year, is published this Sunday, September 30, with The Sunday Times.

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in an Exeter pub by another man who was described as looking like pop star Olly Murs. The incident took place at around 10.50pm on Wednesday 12 September in The Imperial pub in New North Road. There was an altercation between two men and when the victim tried to intervene the suspect punched him to the floor and then kicked him to the face.
