Residents at a local retirement village celebrated the best in British afternoon tea delight, as part of National Afternoon Tea Week.

Retirees at Gittisham Hill Park, in Honiton, laid on a scrumptious spread for a traditional afternoon tea as part of National Afternoon Tea Week.

When Frazer Wilton’s auntie contacted Stagecoach South West regarding her “bus obsessed” 5 year old nephew, the staff at Frazer’s local depot in Torquay decided to arrange a big surprise for a very special little boy.

Frazer - who was diagnosed with Late Infantile Battens disease, a genetic life-limiting neurodegenerative disease, in February 2018 - has always shown a love for buses since an early age.

Hospiscare’s annual Coffee Morning event is about to get under way. Throughout the area, people are signing up to raise funds for the local charity by holding coffee mornings in their homes, community halls and even their local parks. Businesses, too, are getting ready to brew up for Hospiscare.

Massive boost for East Devon cancer patients

FORCE Cancer Charity has announced it is to begin funding the delivery of chemotherapy at Honiton Hospital from this autumn.

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has significantly boosted frequency to its 2018-19 Winter schedule on three of its most popular routes from Exeter to meet public demand with the addition of a second daily flight to Paris Charles de Gaulle, and increasing the number of flights it operates a week to Amsterdam from seven to 11.

Exeter College celebrates its best ever set of academic results, again!

Exeter College is again celebrating its best ever set of academic A Level Results today - with students setting a new record for the number of the very highest results, well in excess of all national averages.

Students at the college from across Devon and beyond recorded exceptional results - a new college record of 61% of A Level students achieved the highest (A*, A, B) grades, well above the average in England of 52.7%.

Exeter School celebrates excellent A-level results

In the year that Exeter School commemorates its 20th year of full co-education, pupils, parents and staff are celebrating an excellent set of A Level results, with a 100% pass rate.

Thirty-seven pupils scored three or more A* or A grades, with over a quarter - 26% - of all results at A*. 58% of all grades were A* or A, with 82% at A*, A or B.
