The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth is holding a Christmas Craft Fair on Sunday 30th November from 10am-4pm to raise money for its work worldwide.
Visitors can kick-start their Christmas shopping, or simply indulge themselves from a wide range of crafts and gifts including textiles and handmade jewellery, or tasty artisan treats!
Entry to the Christmas Craft Fair costs just £2 and includes entry to a prize draw. Festive refreshments including mulled wine, mince pies and homemade muffins will be available.

A donkey-mad grandmother has knitted her 100th toy donkey in aid of The Donkey Sanctuary. Dorothy Harrison, from Beacon Heath, Exeter, started knitting the toys after picking up a knitting pattern on a visit to The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth in 2011 and enjoyed knitting the donkeys so much she set herself the challenge of knitting 100. Ghoulish ghost walks are bigger and better than ever this year, with four ticketed walks taking place at 5:15pm, 5:45pm, 6:15pm & 6:45pm. Tickets are £1 per person, and can be purchased from the Events Barn. There is a maximum number of 20 people per walk.
There will also be pumpkin carving, frightening face painting and other awful activities!

Romanian policeman, Petrescu Vasile from Constanta, received an award through The Donkey Sanctuary’s Romanian project, for recognition of his contribution to animal welfare, after he rescued a severely neglected donkey and informed The Donkey Sanctuary of the animal cruelty he had witnessed. The donkey was found by a roadside in Constanta, collapsed on one side having being repeatedly beaten. Couples looking for a truly unique venue for their wedding can now choose to say ‘I do’ at The Donkey Sanctuary, which has this week been awarded a licence to hold weddings and civil ceremonies at its headquarters in Devon.
The charity has a choice of two venues for ceremonies: a formal garden room or the warm and cosy setting of a donkey stable.
