Exeter City midfielder Matt Grimes has completed a transfer to Barclays Premier League side Swansea City.
The 19-year-old moves for an undisclosed but substantial transfer fee, which makes him comfortably the record sale in Exeter City’s history.
Exminster-born Grimes, who first joined club’s the Academy system at the Cat & Fiddle at the age of 10, was offered a professional contract in the summer of 2013 after working his way through the age-groups.
He made his debut in last season’s 2-0 home win against AFC Wimbledon and went on to play a total of 62 times in...

The players, who were all dressed in Santa suits, chatted...
Exeter City and Burton Albion played out a 1-1 draw at St James Park, with both goals coming after the break.
Jacob Blyth was Burton’s goalscorer on the hour-mark – and it looked like it was going to be enough until Christian Ribeiro headed in City’s equaliser with less than five minutes on the clock.
The result kept up Exeter’s record of being the only Football League team to have scored and conceded in all of their home games in the league to date this season.
And while it didn’t earn Exeter a place amongst the play-off places, it represented a decent point...

Harley originally moved to St James Park from Weston-super-Mare in November 2007 and went on to play 144 times in City colours in his first spell, finding the net on 32 occasions. Since leaving the Park to join Swansea City in 2011, the attacker has represented Brighton & Hove Albion, MK Dons (on loan) before joining Swindon in July 2013. Harley featured 25 times for the Robins last season, but he has not made a competitive appearance since March. Ryan’s loan is initially scheduled to keep him at St James...
City’s tough start to the season continues with a trip to the Pirelli Stadium to face Burton Albion tonight (Tuesday 19 August).
The Brewers were a Wembley win away from escaping League 2 altogether last season. After years of clinging onto survival around the bottom for the Midland side, the influence of Gary Rowett has established Burton as a power in the fourth tie. Ultimately Fleetwood were play-off final winners last year.
While City’s search for a first win of 2014/15 goes on, the Brewers have won all three of their games. An opening day win at Oxford was followed by...
