Edita Berger will be visiting Exeter and Plymouth in September to give talks on Buddhism. Edita is from Hamburg and has been a student of Lama Ole Nydahl for 33 years. Since Lama Ole asked her to travel and start teaching, she has travelled to many countries sharing the inspiring and timeless teachings of Buddhism. A Fundraising Event has been planned for Exeter Forest School Kindergarten, to raise funds for a new outdoor classroom, to enable young children to learn and experience the outdoors.
The event will bring together families across Exeter at Riverside Leisure Centre on Saturday 3rd September from 3pm until 7pm to enjoy a range of games and activities for all ages, including a giant inflatable assault course and forest school activities. A wildlife garden and historic mill in the heart of Exeter will be opening its doors to the public for a special summer open day. The ‘Water and Wildlife’ event is being held at Cricklepit Mill, the headquarters of Devon Wildlife Trust, on Friday 12 August, 10am – 3pm. EXETER’S Quay will be buzzing this August Bank Holiday weekend as it plays host to some of the world’s top climbers at a spectacular climbing competition.
Thousands of spectators are expected to attend the thrilling climbing event on the Quay - and if you fancy dropping off a seven metre wall into the canal - they’ll also be a chance for novices to have a go.
Quay Climbing is staging its third annual Deep Water Solo Festival of Climbing over the August Bank Holiday weekend; the event sees a temporary seven metre high climbing wall erected in the city’s canal basin.
