Chiefs 30 Sharks 25

Exeter Chiefs netted themselves another five-point haul, but head coach Rob Baxter was far from happy despite seeing his side maintain their top two status with this hard-fought victory over visiting Sale Sharks.

The Chiefs survived a real scare from Steve Diamond’s side to record their 11th league win of the campaign courtesy of tries from Kai Horstmann, Luke Cowan-Dickie, Olly Woodburn and Don Armand, but those were the key highlights in a performance that Baxter insisted post-match lacked any real intensity.

Chiefs side to face Sale Sharks

Ali Hepher believes Exeter Chiefs still have areas to work on as their Aviva Premiership season heads towards the final straight. Undefeated in the top flight since late October, the Chiefs have produced an impressive run of results that has not only propelled them to second in the current standings, but has put them firmly on course for home advantage in the end of season play-offs. With just five rounds of the scheduled season remaining, three of which will be played at Sandy Park, Hepher says it’s imperative his side not only maintain their current performance levels, but in turn also...

Now, the 23-year-old is looking to play his own part in Exeter’s final run-in, returning to Devon fresh off the back of helping England secure a second RBS Six Nations...

Cup woe for battling Chiefs

Exeter Chiefs 12 Leicester Tigers 16 In the week of the world famous Cheltenham Festival, Exeter Chiefs came a cropper in the final furlong as Leicester Tigers took the honours in this season’s Anglo-Welsh Cup.

The Tigers lifted the Anglo-Welsh prize for the third time thanks to a first half try from winger Tom Brady and the boot of prized fly-half Freddie Burns.

The Chiefs countered with a first half try from winger James...

Chiefs side to face Tigers

Ricky Pellow has told his Exeter Chiefs side to go and “finish the job” as they prepare to face rivals Leicester Tigers in the Anglo-Welsh Cup Final at the Twickenham Stoop on Sunday (3pm).

Having booked their place in the first showpiece event of the season with a 24-7 victory over Harlequins a week ago, now the Chiefs must look to replicate that winning formula against English rugby’s most decorated club side.

The Tigers, who themselves won at defending champions Saracens, pose the final threat to Pellow and his Chiefs, who will be participating in their third successive...
