It was a game of limited chances throughout the 90 minutes, but Ollie Watkins came closest to getting the breakthrough as his volley cannoned off the crossbar.
City manager Paul Tisdale welcomed back Troy Brown to the starting line-up for the first time since August 27. The 26-year-old defender played the last 25 minutes of last Saturday’s defeat to Carlisle United but had spent two-and-half-months out injured prior to that.

Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale said he felt his side were hard done to on Saturday as a dubious offside flag cost them at Carlisle United.
The Grecians fell to a 3-2 loss at Brunton Park with goals from Shaun Miller, in the 89th minute, and Charlie Wyke, in the seventh minute of stoppage time, giving the Cumbrians all three points.
However, City had a glorious chance to take all three points when the scores were level at 2-2. Carlisle had set up in a 2-4-4 formation at this point as they looked for a stoppage time winner.
Reuben Reid had put the Grecians in front from the penalty spot early in the second half, but a double from John Marquis and a header from Liam Mandeville saw Darren Ferguson’s side return to Yorkshire with all three points.

Exeter City recorded their fifth away league victory in seven matches with fantastic first half of attacking football at Morecambe.

First-half goals from Luke Berry and Harrison Dunk gave Cambridge United a 2-1 win at St James Park.
