In response to the current social distance guidelines, The Oddfellows, Exeter has launched a new supper club dining concept - ‘Supper Club Lock-Ins’.

The Oddfellows will be offering a six-course foodie taster menu for £35 on Friday and Saturday evenings. There will be a cocktail aperitif menu and wine pairing from local merchants. LGBTQ+ X-Plore youth groups transfer of governance

ON January 1, 2020 X-Plore Youth Group, which has run dedicated youth groups for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer plus (LGBT+) young people in Devon for 18 years, transferred the running and governance of the charity to Space (formerly Devon Youth Service).

Space Youth Workers have operated the current groups in Exeter and Barnstaple, for the last few years, so there will be no change to how the groups are run.

Severe Weather Protocol activated to encourage rough sleepers to come in out of the cold

With temperatures set to fall over the weekend, Exeter City Council has activated its Severe Weather Protocol (SWEP) and is making available extra accommodation for rough sleepers to come in out of the cold.

The protocol means that the Council works with its partner agencies Julian House, BCHA and St Petrocks to organise accommodation for anyone rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping during severe weather.

Temperatures tonight and over the weekend are expected to dip to freezing. For this reason, the City Council will be reviewing its SWEP into next week.

This month, Exeter Chamber subgroup, Exeter Initiative for Science and Technology (ExIST) held its latest event which focused on the extremely relevant topic of plastics and what impact plastic is having on the planet combined with the science, research and development of alternative materials and technology.

Funding boost for Exeter’s oldest building thanks to National Lottery players

Funding from National Lottery players will help to safeguard Exeter’s oldest building and provide more opportunities for people to explore it’s fascinating history.

An "internal critical incident" was declared at Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital due to the adverse weather.

A charity classic car show in Exmouth is expecting to attract over 200 cars when it opens the gate on Sunday 20th August, writes David Morgan.
