This spring, Exeter Phoenix and Exeter Pride are celebrating love, life and LGBT+ with Cine Queer – a new film season at Studio 74 as part of Exeter Pride’s 10th Anniversary.

AN explosion of colour, positivity and pride will take place in Exeter on Saturday, May 12 - and everyone is invited to come out and and celebrate.

Exeter Pride is one of the South West's biggest celebrations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) communities in the region.

A key annual event in the city's calendar, this year will mark Exeter Pride's 10th anniversary.

EXETER Pride committee, the group which organises the biggest annual celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) communities in the county of Devon, is one of four Pride organisations who hope to stage UK Pride 2018.

The first UK Pride took place at Pride in Hull in July 2017, attracting visitors to the city from across the UK.

Licensed by the UK Pride Organisers Network (UKPON), UK Pride is the national equivalent of EuroPride and WorldPride.

EXETER Pride committee, the group which organises the biggest annual celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) communities in the county of Devon, says it is excited to announce that it is in the running to be UK Pride 2018.

Six Pride organisations have throw their hat into the ring to host UK Pride in 2018.

The first UK Pride took place at Pride in Hull in July 2017, attracting visitors to the city from across the UK.

Rainbow flags are flying at the University of Exeter’s campuses this week as staff and students mark Exeter Pride.

The University is a key sponsor of the event, which celebrates lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) communities and is honouring the occasion through proudly flying the emblem and hosting a Pride on Campus event to raise awareness of the staff and student LGBTQ+ networks.

A giant rainbow flag has been wrapped around the inside of the University’s Forum building, and they are also flying outside the Washington Singer building on the Streatham campus...

Charity raises awareness of abuse within LGBT+ relationships

The domestic abuse charity SAFE is to take part in the Exeter Pride festival next month for the first time.

Exeter Pride, on May 13th, is the biggest free celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGTBT+) communities in Devon, and is also an opportunity for support groups to promote their work.

SAFE, who are based in Exeter and work across Devon, will have a stand at the event to raise awareness that domestic abuse can and does happen in LGBT+ relationships, and that help is available for anyone affected by it.

The biggest celebration of LGBT+ communities returns with a lively cabaret evening on the Friday followed by the main event all day Saturday.

FRIDAY Come and join us for an Exeter Pride warm up night of cabaret and entertainment. Featuring, comedy and music as well as slam poetry from the team at Loud and Queer and DJs in the bar! Devon singing-songwriting sensation Joss Stone will appear at the 9th Exeter Pride, which will take place in the city on Saturday, May 13.

Joss (30), who hails from Uffculme and still lives in Mid Devon, as well as attending to support the event, says she will take to the main stage to sing a song or two at the biggest free celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) communities in the county of Devon.

Exeter Pride returns for its 8th year on Saturday, May 7 and it will be the county's biggest and brightest celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and other communities (LGBTQ+).
