Kind Arted folks exhibit at South Street Baptist Church

Exeter’s South Street Baptist Church (located at the lower end of South Street) are currently hosting an art exhibition this week on 28 and 29 September. Artwork is by members of South Street Baptist’s artistic community augmented by selected local artists – including Brian J. Turner (now seven years into his epic 30 year project to paint the entire Bible. Over 300 completed paintings so far.)

On 12 October, Exeter Cathedral is hosting its Diamond Jubilee Grand Nave Dinner in support of the Third Millennium Campaign, which ensures that the Cathedral and its mission are sustained for the future. John Nettles is kindly giving his time to entertain the dinner guests with readings drawn from the archives and there will be music from David Webb, a former chorister, who is now forging a professional career together with the Cathedral's own musicians, choristers and the Devon County Junior choir. Appeal after Olly Murs lookalike assaults man in pub

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in an Exeter pub by another man who was described as looking like pop star Olly Murs. The incident took place at around 10.50pm on Wednesday 12 September in The Imperial pub in New North Road. There was an altercation between two men and when the victim tried to intervene the suspect punched him to the floor and then kicked him to the face. The 25-year-old victim from Bolton suffered a fractured eye socket and bleeding to his eye in the incident. Police have released a description of the suspect (pictured) as follows: 5ft 8in...
