Staffing crisis for hospitality - Mickeys Beach Bar & Restaurant to close 2 days a week temporarily

Brand new Exmouth foodie destination, Mickeys Beach Bar & Restaurant, will be open 5 days rather than 7 at the start of July temporarily to maintain the highest standards of operation within the restaurant, whilst ensuring staff are well looked after. The restaurant will be closed on two Mondays and Tuesdays in July (Monday 5th & Tuesday 6th and Monday 12th & Tuesday 13th July), further dates will be reviewed there-after.

The Mickeys Beach team will be contacting all those booked in for these dates to inform customers of the closure and staff will rebook all...

Exmouth RNLI search for missing Paddle boarder

At 6:29pm today Sunday 4 July 2021 both Exmouth RNLI Lifeboats were tasked by H.M. Coastguard to search for a missing paddleboarder between Straight Point to east of Budleigh Salterton.

Exmouth RNLI Inshore Lifeboat D-805 George Bearman II launched at 6.37pm, crewed by Harry Griffin, Henry Mock, Ed Thomas and Mark Cockman. The lifesavers commenced a detailed shoreline search from Straight Point to east of Budleigh Salterton.

Crowds line the route for ‘the Grandfather of Exmouth RNLI Lifeboat Station’

Exmouth RNLI Staff, Crew, volunteers and many friends paid their respects today to a popular and long serving volunteer on the day of his funeral.

Volunteers and crew members from Exmouth RNLI past and present, RNLI Staff together with many friends and acquaintances attended Exmouth Lifeboat Station in Queens Drive, Exmouth today Friday 2nd July 2021 to pay their respects to Don Hodgkinson, a long serving and well respected RNLI volunteer who died on 12 June after a short illness.

As Cornwall hosted the G7 summit of world leaders, waves of hope have been appearing across Cornwall and Devon and Christian Aid supporters from Exmouth and Exeter have now joined in. Phonics with Robot Reg classes set to reopen

Parents can breathe a sigh of relief next week as baby and children’s classes finally reopen after the most recent lockdown.

But as well as having to adapt to the new Covid social distancing restrictions Exeter and Exmouth’s Phonics with Robot Reg classes will also look a bit different.

Instead of just focussing on the children the classes will also be supporting the parents.
