Come and celebrate our gorgeous English apples at an Apple Festival taking place in the quaint farming village of Stockleigh Pomeroy.
The Romans first brought the apple to the UK and thanks to them there are now over 1,200 native apples for eating, cooking, as well as for cider making and crab apples for pickling. They have enchanting names such as: Acklam Russets, Barnack Beauty, Nutmeg Pippin, Knobby Russet… and many more.
The Apple Festival will be a great day out for all the family. Activities on the day include:
Travel to Treasure Island and search for pirates and loot in a story based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s book. It is 1953 and wartime sugar rationing has finally ended. Together at Westpoint is a fantastic summer event - a place to come into the presence of God and learn, love and go alongside hundreds of his people.
Newfrontiers Churches from the South and South West are holding their annual bible weekend at Westpoint from 22 - 25 August. They expect to see 2,000 adults, young people and children attend, with main meetings in the Arena and camping on site.
There will be a wide and varied programme of events across the weekend including: Sports and Games, Big Meetings, Prayer, Fantastic Childrens Activities, Guest Speakers and Worship...
Take the whole family along to Topsham Fire Station’s open day and learn more about what they do.
Their fun educational vehicle will be present, which is always a great hit with children and parents alike. Tea and coffee will be available and our Fire Fighters charity stall.

Music 4 Life Summer Music is taking place in the Phoenix Youth Club in Wonford on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 August.
It is being run by Wren Music, Devon's leading community music organisation.
There will be loads of music making and singing. It will be great fun. We provide lots of instruments for you to try and join in with, or you can bring your own acoustic ones along!
Music starts at 10.30am and the day ends at 3.30pm The group is for 8 to 18 year olds...
...and it is all absolutely FREE!
