Stylish Twiggy Swag Masterclass

Join our second of Sarah Pepper's seasonal masterclasses. We'll each be making a garland base of about 1 meter using twigs and then a natural decoration of lovely hardy foliages, ribbon, cones, and dried botanicals. It’s a great decoration to hang outside above the front door instead of a wreath, on gates or indoors above a fireplace.

Class fee of £25, includes a glass of prosecco or mulled wine on arrival, all materials, use of tools, coffee and mince pies.

You'll get to make a refreshing lemon body scrub, a fantastic chocolate and orange body scrub and colourful fizzy bath bombs. We'll be packaging your projects in pretty jars, with fabric, ribbons, buttons and home made labels.

Cotley Matford Farm Launch Day

Enjoy appearances by Cotley Farm’s reindeer, carol singers and Elsa from Frozen. Elsa will be judging the Exeter bauble decorating competition, and children will get the chance to hang their bauble from one of our locally grown trees.

The first 200 families to buy their trees from our Matford site that day will get a free child’s ticket for Dartmoor Zoo. Entry is free, but booking is essential

Chancellor warns of impact of leaving EU on South West

A VOTE to leave the EU would cause a 'profound economic shock' that would cost tens of thousands of jobs, and risk living standards and house prices in the South West, Chancellor George Osborne will warn today. (TUES)

On a visit to Stroud, the Chancellor will say that the UK has a bright future inside a reformed EU, with opportunities to build on the economic recovery and rising levels of employment, with over 44,600 jobs expected to be created in the South West by 2020 if we remain in the EU. By contrast, he will unveil new analysis suggesting a Leave vote on June 23rd would cause...

Family fun at farm open day

Live music, great food and...piglet racing - just a few of the elements making up a Devon farm’s open day next weekend.

Kenniford Farm, which is just a few miles from Exeter at Clyst St Mary, is opening its gates to the public as part of Open Farm Sunday, which takes place on June 5.

As well as stalls, local beer, a bouncy castle and entertainment for all ages, there will be a chance to look behind the scenes at the farm, from the tiny newborn piglets to the fully-grown sows rolling in the sandy fields.

Enterprise and innovation to the fore in Devon Farm Business Awards shortlist

Once again, the short-list for the Devon Farm Business awards presents a fascinating cross-section of what is happening in farming in the West Country.

The common threads running through all of the farm businesses which are up for an award at the presentation evening on the eve of this year’s Devon County Show (May 19-21) are enterprise, innovation, market focus and family farming.

The awards are organised by a partnership of the Addington Fund, the Devon County Agricultural Association (DCAA) and Stephens Scown Solicitors.
