Roll up! Roll up! The 2016 Hospiscare Summer Fete will soon be here where a wealth of entertainment, refreshments and good old fashioned fun for all the family is guaranteed.

Proms success at Bicton Gardens

The beautiful gardens of Bicton Park were awash with red, white and blue as 900 people enjoyed a spectacular show for Hospiscare’s Proms in the Park last Saturday.

The rain clouds stayed away as the night opened with the big brass sounds of the South West Comms Band who were followed by the gifted voices of India’s finest tenor, Anando Mukerjee and the UK’s own inspirational Laure Meloy.

The musical arrangement included songs from musicals and popular operatic arias such as La Traviata and Boheme.

Trekkers prepare for Great Wall Challenge

October sees the start of a potentially epic adventure for Hospiscare volunteer Heatherbelle Bates and Hospiscare fundraiser Charlotte Knipe.

For on 8th October, the intrepid duo are going to China for the Great Wall Challenge, China Trek, a 9 day adventure following the Great Wall of China to help raise funds for Hospiscare.

Eager to be prepared, the trekkers brought along black Labrador Luca for a local warm up walk on Wednesday 22nd June.

Knightstone Manor opens for exclusive summer party

An exclusive tea-party was organised by Hospiscare at Knightstone Manor and sponsored by wealth management company Brewin Dolphin, Exeter office. The seventy special guests were Invited to join The Rt. Hon. Baroness Butler-Sloss GBE, Vice-President of the charity, for a traditional afternoon English tea. Kindly hosted at Knightstone Manor, located on the outskirts of Ottery St. Mary, the historical house is the private home of Jan-Eric and Jennifer Österlund.

Retiring Consultant, Tim Harlow, gives thanks to the local community and urges their continued support for the future

Tim Harlow has been a Doctor and Consultant at Hospiscare for 14 years and retires in September. As he reflects on his time at the charity he wants to say thank you to the many people in the community who have supported his work.

Exmouth Estate Agents sign up for Twilight Walk

A team of 7 women from Bradley Estate Agents in Exmouth have signed up for this year’s Twilight Walk on the 9th July.

The 5 or 10 mile sponsored walk round Exmouth is being held to raise much needed funds for local charity Hospiscare.

Law firm to host Barbeque and Beer networking event

Leading South West law firm Everys Solicitors is hosting a barbeque and beer networking event at Hanlons Brewery to help raise money for the firm’s chosen charity Hospiscare.

Exeter glowed for good for hospice

Last Saturday night, 28th May, nearly 800 runners dressed up in an array of neon outfits and took part in the multi coloured, glowing spectacular that is the Hospiscare Exeter Neon Night Run, sponsored by Everys Solicitors.

For the second year running, this popular charity event got the streets of Exeter buzzing with runners on a 5k route starting and finishing at the University of Exeter and through the heart of the City centre. All enjoyed dressing up and being splattered with brightly coloured neon paint at three points around the route.
